Media kits are a collection of information that creates a unified message about an organization to media
outlets. A media kit provides background information on your organization, they often are compiled to
announce a special event or gives important information during a crisis.
I created a digital media kit for my multimedia writing for public relations class. We were responsible for creating a client, fictional or real, and compiling a media kit for them. I have always loved music so I decided to do my media kit on an event that was happening in Auburn called Music and Miracles. Music and Miracles is a charity concert that is held in Auburn every year. The concert benefits the Chicken Salad Chick Foundation, a foundation with two causes: finding a cure for cancer and ending hunger in America. For the media kit I announced that the benefit concert was coming back to Auburn and that this year the headliners would include Thomas Rhett and Blake Shelton.
In my media kit you will find a backgrounder, news release, staff biographies, audio news release and photos with the cutline. Although the client was real, all of the information you will find in my media kit is fictional. The only legitimate information you will find in my media kit are the names on the staff biographies.
